911 Turbo

2020–2024Coupé · Cabriolet

Seven months after the Turbo S, in July 2020, the 992.1 Turbo arrived as the cheapest route to 580 PS. The 3,745 cc twin-turbo flat-six uses symmetrical VTG turbochargers with a slightly smaller compressor wheel than the S, giving 427 kW (580 PS; 572 hp) at 6,750 rpm and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) between 2,500 and 5,000 rpm — with no overboost time limit. The result matches the outgoing 997-generation Turbo S: under three seconds to 100 km/h, in fact 2.8, and 320 km/h (199 mph). The Turbo keeps the S's side intakes and rear wing logic but gives up the twin oval sport exhaust for four round tips, cast-iron discs with red calipers and five-lug wheels; almost everything else was optional on the S.
