911 GT2

1995–1998Coupé

Racing rules banning all-wheel drive turned the 993 Turbo into the rear-drive GT2, homologated for the FIA GT2 class and badged simply '911 GT' on the decklid. Bolt-on plastic arches, a strut-mounted wing with integrated air scoops and a stripped RS-style cabin defined it; the biturbo ran higher boost for 430 PS, rising to 450 PS for 1998 with dual ignition. Roughly 200 kg lighter than the Turbo, it was the most extreme road 993 — 0–100 km/h in under four seconds and a 296 km/h top speed. Around 57 were sold for homologation alongside some 110 customer racers.
