911 America Roadster

1992–1993Roadster · Cabriolet

Named for the 356 America Roadster, the 964 America Roadster was the United States-market version of the Turbo-Look Carrera 2 Cabriolet: a wide-bodied naturally aspirated convertible with the standard electric rear spoiler and Turbo rear guards. Mechanically it borrowed the Turbo's 17-inch Cup wheels, brakes and suspension while keeping the 250 PS M64 flat-six. It was one of a small group of 964 special editions launched for the 1992 model year and has since become a cult US-market car, valued for combining the Turbo's stance with the reliability and lower running costs of the naturally aspirated engine. Only 250 were built across the 1992 and 1993 model years, of which 164 were delivered in 1992 and 86 in 1993.
