911 Carrera 4S

2002–2005Coupé · Cabriolet

The 4S gave the 996 a second, more aggressive shape: the Turbo's wide 1,830 mm body, its wheels and its brakes, but with the 3.6-litre naturally aspirated engine in place of the twin-turbo. Launched for 2002 as a coupé — the cabriolet followed for 2004 — it combined permanent all-wheel drive with 320 PS, 370 Nm, a 5.1-second sprint to 100 km/h and a 280 km/h top speed. Wider rear arches, cross-drilled discs and the aero-tuned front end made it the most planted naturally aspirated 996, and today it is among the generation's most sought-after variants.
