911 GT2

2000–2005Coupé

The GT2 took the 996 Turbo's drivetrain and removed everything Porsche could live without: all-wheel drive, rear seats and around 100 kg of mass. It ran with 462 PS in 2001–2002 form and 483 PS from 2003, driving the rear wheels through a six-speed manual with ceramic composite brakes standard, 315-section rear tyres and 1,440 kg to haul. It cracked 100 km/h in 4.0 seconds and ran to 314 km/h — the fastest production 911 of its day. Homologated for GT2-class racing, it was rawer and far rarer than the Turbo, and famously unforgiving of mistakes.
