911 Carrera S

The Carrera S arrived with the launch cars in July 2004, defined by a new 3.8-litre flat-six — the largest naturally aspirated boxer in a series-production 911 to that point — producing 355 PS (350 hp) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft). It came with PASM adaptive dampers, 19-inch wheels, an upgraded braking system, sports exhaust and bi-xenon headlamps as standard. From the 2006 model year an X51 Powerkit raised output to 381 PS (376 hp), and the 2008 direct-injection revision lifted the 3.8 to 385 PS (380 hp) with 420 Nm (310 lb-ft). Coupé and cabriolet bodies were joined by the wider, all-wheel-drive Carrera 4S.
