911 GT2 RS

2010–2011Coupé

The 997 GT2 RS was unveiled at Porsche's Leipzig plant on 4 May 2010 as the most powerful and fastest road-legal 911 of its day. Its 3.6-litre twin-turbocharged flat-six produced 620 PS (612 hp) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft), propelling the rear-drive coupé from 0–97 km/h (0–60 mph) in 3.3 seconds and on to 330 km/h (205 mph), while the Nordschleife lap time of 7:18 seconds underscored its circuit capability. Seventy kilograms (154 lb) were saved against the GT2 through thinner body panels and the use of carbon-fibre reinforced plastic for the bonnet, rear wing, roof and rear diffuser; the wing and rear spoiler were made of exposed carbon fibre. Production ran to 2011.
