911 Carrera 3.0

1976–1977Coupé · Targa

The Carrera 3.0 replaced the 2.7 Carrera for 1976 and traded mechanical injection for K-Jetronic, costing it 7 kW: 147 kW (200 PS) at 6,000 rpm with 255 Nm. It was effectively the first road car with the bottom end that the 930 Turbo would use, and it became the mechanical template for the SC that followed. Performance stayed close to the 2.7 Carrera's — 0–100 km/h in about 6.3 seconds and a 230 km/h (143 mph) top speed — while the body remained narrow. Some 3,687 were built across 1976–77, roughly 30 per cent of them Targas.
