911 Carrera Club Sport

1987–1989Coupé

The Club Sport was Porsche's "less is more" reply to the excess of the 1980s. Option M637 deleted the sunroof, rear seat, air conditioning, power windows, radio, sound insulation and underseal to save roughly 40–70 kg, while the engine gained hollow inlet valves, a revised intake and a raised 6,840 rpm rev limiter. Official output stayed at 231 PS, but kerb weight fell to about 1,160 kg, taking 0–60 mph to 5.1 seconds and top speed to 244 km/h (152 mph). Coupé-only, built from September 1987 to September 1989: 340 cars, 53 for the UK and 28 for the US.
