911 Carrera RS 3.0

1974Coupé

The RS 3.0 was built in tiny numbers purely to homologate the 3.0-litre RSR racing car. Its 2,993 cc engine took the RSR's 95 mm bore and ran Kugelfischer mechanical injection on 9.8:1 compression, while the chassis gained wider Fuchs wheels, a reinforced suspension and 917-derived cross-drilled ventilated brakes. A systematic diet left the car around 900 kg dry. In road tune the six produced 230 PS (169 kW) at 6,200 rpm with 275 Nm at 5,000. Only 55–56 cars were completed in 1974.
